Vehicle Death Match (VDM)
Vehicle Death Match (VDM) is killing someone with your vehicle without any Valid or Realistic reason. Running someone over while they are AFK and can’t react or defend themselves is also VDM and Force-RP.
Example of VDM (Vehicle Death Match):
Subject A sees and Subject B walking across the road and decides to run him over for no apparent reason at 150mph, downing and killing them instantly, driving off laughing. THIS IS CONSIDERED VDM
Example of a Valid Interaction:
Subject A is a Police Officer and they respond to a call of shots fired around Legion Square, they pull into the side-path besides the bank and are ambushed. Subject B & Gang aim guns at him from the front, and Subject A's reflex is to instantly drive back but doesn't notice more of Subject B's Gang Members are behind him trying to block him in! Subject A's interaction was TOO QUICK for him NOT to value his life, there was distance and the proximity wasn't that much, which means it would be reasonable to also believe he could get away. However, he runs over and downs Subject B's Gang Members in the process of trying to evade! THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED VDM! - The Situation was Reasonable, and the actions would be lawful alongside the fact he wasn't aware they would be there in that exact place, at that exact time.
One of the easier rules to break. Intentionally running people over even in RP is prohibited from the server. Situations where it is accidental may be played out in RP. (someone jumps out in front of you OR police pursuit directs you into hitting someone by accident).
When do we consider reckless driving a rule break: Generally reckless driving is an offense dealt with by the local PD however, If you’re constantly speeding and smashing into things, store entrances, hitting people & general speeding for no reason then you will be reminded to drive acceptably.
Shooting out of cars: the only time you’re allowed to shoot from or at a vehicle is if a verbal altercation / fight has broken out already and the setting has moved to vehicles / pursuit. (police CANNOT fire at a suspect's car if the suspect has not fired a weapon from their vehicle.)
Traffic stops: If you are being pulled over for a routine traffic stop & have no reason to fear the police (i.e outstanding warrants). Then we ask you to comply with the traffic stop. Police don’t always want to chase in hot pursuit over a $30 ticket.
Unrealistic Crashes: If you drive and crash even remotely hard your character may find themselves injured. Technically, you could still back up and keep driving 100mph but that would be failRP. If you’ve immobilized your vehicle, play it out! Call for 911 if you need medical attention or police assistance to help you with a road rage altercation. This isn’t always the case but it brings good RP to the city and to you.
