Being Dispatched
What do I do when I get dispatched to a call?
Being ready is key when being EMS, you want to get to a location as fast as possible at the same time being as safe as possible.
When dispatch places a 911 call on your map make sure to call it & sound your sirens and turn on your lights, enter intersections with caution even with your lights on! Red lights are dangerous so slow down & proceed with caution.
As you arrive at your destination try to absorb as much information as possible about what is going on at the same time as finding & helping the patient.
Ensure you carry a radio and keep tuned to EMS specific channel (3), from 1-10, these are channels encrypted to ONLY EMS/FIRE and Police.
ALL vehicles can be accessed going straight through the elevator, located on the main floor and are accessible in the parking spaces in the parking garage. All EMS should be driving ambulances unless authorized by High Command.
